Bicycle Parking Inventory Project
The cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks are preparing an application for ranking as a Bicycle Friendly Community. This is a voluntary program through the American League of Cyclists. This program gives recognition to communities for their efforts to be bicycle friendly. One piece of the application requires data about bicycle parking options.
Collecting this data will be a big task. We're asking for your help in data collection.
How can you help?
We've divided the two cities into manageable sections. We need people to canvas these sections and document the bicycle parking opportunities. (Click the buttons below to see the maps and worksheets). Some areas will be fairly easy and some will be more challenging. You can work alone or as a team. It's up to you whether you ride your bike, inline skate, walk, or drive through these sections to collect the data.
Then what?
The worksheets can be mailed or scanned and emailed to our office for calculation. Instructions are on the worksheets. This data will be used in the application that is submitted.
